Nine companies and organizations and four individuals have been named finalists for the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Diversity & Inclusion Awards. The awards celebrate companies, business development organizations and individuals that deserve recognition for their efforts to promote policies, programs and projects that foster equal opportunities, practices, career advancement, skills and benefits in the workplace — regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or expression.
These finalists were named in the following categories: • Corporation/company: Carlton Fields PA, Ford & Harrison LLP; PBS&J • Business development organizations/chambers of commerce: Community Tampa Bay; Hillsborough County Economic Development Department; Indo-US Chamber of Commerce, Inc.; Minority Enterprise Development Week; National Society of Hispanic MBAs; Out & Equal Tampa Bay • Individual: Julie Sneed, Fowler White Boggs PA; Janice Cook, Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority; Debra Ellis, IBM Corp.; Desiree Hanson, H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center. Finalists will be honored and winners named at an event on March 18 at the Embassy Suites Tampa-USF; also honored will be the top 25 minority-owned businesses in Tampa Bay.
