Welcome to the NSHMBA Seattle Chapter


Welcome to our website. NSHMBA Seattle is dedicated to increasing Hispanic leadership in the Pacific Northwest through graduate management education, professional development, recruiting, and networking.  Our programs and events are geared towards business professional, those seeking an MBA, and those currently in an MBA program.  If you’d like to be kept up to date on the latest events from our chapter, feel free to join our Facebook group or follow us on Twitter (twitter.com/NSHMBA_Seattle).  We are also seeking volunteers for our various committees.  For more information, email us at info@nshmba.seattle.org           Richard Velazquez, President 

Who We Are-NSHMBA

The National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) was created in 1988. Widely known as the "Premier Hispanic Organization," NSHMBA serves 32 chapters and 8,000 members in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. It exists to foster Hispanic leadership through graduate management education and professional development. NSHMBA works to prepare Hispanics for leadership positions throughout the U.S., so that they can provide the cultural awareness and sensitivity vital in the management of the nation's diverse workforce.

To be the premier Hispanic MBA professional business network for economic and philanthropic advancement.

Microsoft Diversity Recruiting and Networking Event

Please join us to hear from Microsoft Executives who will share their leadership experiences in the company as well as their current business challenges.

 

Microsoft is hiring with a focus on their most important business priorities. Microsoft recruiters will be on-site to network and discuss some open opportunities in business management, marketing, finance, engineering, and law. If you’re interested in career opportunities, bring your résumé and learn more about available positions.  This event is open to professionals, undergraduate, and graduate students.

Microsoft Divisions that have sponsored this event include the Entertainment and Devices Division (E&D), Microsoft Operations (MS Ops), and SMSG Finance. Recruiters from other Microsoft Business Divisions will also be attending this event.

NSHMBA Seattle Student Liaison Program

The NSHMBA Seattle chapter is seeking Student Liaisons at each of the AACSB accrediated graduate business programs in Washington and Oregon.

NSHMBA Seattle Student Liaisons will receive a complimentary NSHMBA membership, as well as $400 towards travel expenses to the NSHMBA National Conference and Career Expo. The 2009 Conference will be held in Minneapolis, MN, and will be attended by over 200 organizations looking to hire diverse talent. Full conference details are availiable by

To be eligible for the Student Liaison Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1) be enrolled as a full-time MBA student in a select AACSB accredited graduate business school program (full list of eligible schools below)
2) be able and willing to fulfill the responsibilities of a student liaison, including (but not limited to) marketing of NSHMBA events and programs, dissemination of material related to NSHMBA scholarship, drive student membership.
3) be available to attend a monthly conference call with other student liaisons and NSHMBA Executive Board members.
4) be able to submit a monthly status report before each conference call.

1) Complimentary NSHMBA Student Membership (for new members)
2) $400 reimbursement for travel expenses to the NSHMBA National Conference and Career Expo

4) Complimentary attendance at year-end Awards Dinner
