University of Virginia
Darden School of Business

Consistently ranked among the world’s best, Darden’s two-year MBA program is known for its case study method, general management orientation, commitment to ethics, and top-notch faculty, who were ranked the #1 teaching faculty by The Princeton Review in 2007 and 2008. The core of the MBA program is the case method of instruction where students analyze major business problems from the viewpoint of key decision makers. Through individual preparation, small group discussion, and lively exchanges in class, students are able to strengthen their communication and leadership skills by learning to make difficult decisions with limited information and significant uncertainty. Globally, Darden has exchange programs with 18 other graduate schools of business in Europe, Asia, Australia and Latin America, and each year students have the option of participating in Global Business Experiences, weeklong courses that enable students to explore international business issues outside of the United States.

The school emphasizes a student-centered approach to learning as each person brings a new perspective and different skill set to Darden. That’s why the school works to increase diversity in the program. Key partners include: The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, The Forté Foundation, the Toigo Foundation, Management Leadership for Tomorrow and the Leadership Education and Development Program in Business (LEAD).
