Due to its location and significant international and Hispanic populations, Houston is an important gateway to the Central and South American business markets, and is known as the international energy business capital of the world. The Jones School was honored to be the first ever lead academic sponsor at the 2007 NSHMBA National Conference in Houston. In addition, the Jones School plays an active role in building and fostering diversity within the Houston business community by sponsoring and hosting a number of conferences, workshops, and symposia throughout the year, including the annual Texas LEAD Conference, a joint effort between the Houston chapters of NSHMBA and NBMBAA.
