Friday, March 18, 2016
The National Society of Hispanic MBA’s (NSHMBA) now Prospanica, announced New Jersey has received the title of Chapter of the Year for 2015, making it the second year in a row they have achieved this honor. Prospanica New Jersey has won this award four times in the past eight years competing for the title against 39 chapters across the United States and Puerto Rico.
Prospanica CEO Thomas Savino said, “New Jersey deserves this recognition as they are committed to Hispanic achievement and strive yearly to meet the guidelines and goals asked of them. It is my hope all of our Prospanica chapters work to become Chapter of the Year and because of this unified effort, Hispanics everywhere will become the real winners.”
The Chapter of the Year program was started in 2008 to recognize chapters that achieve excellence throughout the year. To be considered for this recognition, each chapter must meet specific criteria in various areas to show the chapter is well rounded and robust. The areas looked at include compliance, financial health, programming, and membership.
“The NJ team has been working diligently to identify how we can best provide ROI to our corporate and academic partners,” said Ramon de la Cruz, JD MBA Prospanica New Jersey President. “We strive to execute quality professional development program events that drive New Jersey as a constant top-performing chapter.”
New Jersey hosted more than 8 events in 2015 and was able to achieve Chapter of the Year for outstanding performance in the financial health category by bringing in revenue and managing their expenses well. New Jersey has earned chapter of year recognition four of the last five years and are definitely making a difference in the New Jersey Hispanic community.
“The New Jersey Chapter is one of Prospanica’s leading chapters that go above and beyond what is asked of them and continue to exceed.” said Esther Gonzales, Prospanica Chapter Relations Senior Manager.

This event is taking place at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York Rutherford Operations Center (EROC) on April 7, 2016 and is sponsored by Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
