NSHMBA 2014 Conference



  •  Will there be wi-fi available on the conference Expo floor?

Expo floor wi-fi is available at no cost to NSHMBA Premier and Executive members.  Access codes can be retrieved at the NSHMBA booth on the Expo floor. 

  •  Will there be a conference app available?

Yes, it will also have a downloadable expo map, agenda, and much more.

  •  What conference and job support is being offered for participants?

There will be a career management center where full conference attendees can work with career coaches on their resumes, writing and delivering an impactful elevator speech and practice their interviewing skills.  There will also be an internet café available for attendees.


  •  What if I want to change my registration (including refunds)?

You can call either (972) 349-5593 or (866) 204-6246 Monday through Friday from 8am to 6:30pm CST.

  • What is the refund policy?

Requests for cancellations will be refunded 50% on registration and 100% on separately purchased meal tickets, less a $25 processing fee when the request is received via email on or before August 25, 2014.

There will be NO refunds after August 26, 2014.  This includes no refunds either onsite or post-event.  No cancellations will be accepted over the phone.  You can see the cancellation policy

  • Is it possible to update documents submitted during the registration process?  When?

Yes, registrants will have the ability to change out their resume as desired as well as add different versions.  They will also be able to add a professional picture to make themselves more memorable when sponsors scan them for interviews on the floor.  

To update your information your resume and profile:

The resume or document that you select will be linked to the QR code on your badge.  The current one tied to your badge is the one that was uploaded when you registered this year.  We highly encourage you to update your profile with a professional headshot photo.  You can also add additional resumes targeted to those key jobs for which you will be interviewing.  All this is completely under your control so that you can choose which one is shared when scanned by the ConNektPro application from the companies.  The candidate side of the ConNektPro website is also mobile friendly which allows you to change your primary resume selection at any time.


  •  Does the career expo include internships as well as jobs?  Where can I find this list?

Yes.  These listings will also be on the NektPro site, found here.  Please note that internship postings are at the discretion of the company and just because they choose not to post does not mean that there is no opportunity.  When in doubt ask!

  • Will conference registrants be able to view positions that are being recruited and the contact information of the recruiters?

We are currently working to identify jobs that will be specifically recruited for at conference as well as specific areas of focus (marketing, finance, ops).  Jobs postings will be on NektPro, which you can access here.  Recruiters are also continually searching through the NektPro database so don’t forget to upload your resume and make sure that you answer ALL the qualifying questions!

  • What if I am not contacted in advance for an interview?  Will there still be interview slots available at the conference?

Companies routinely keep slots open for candidates they meet at the actual expo.  Pick your target companies, review the corporate websites, and be sure to visit their booths as soon as possible.  Remember, the better informed you are about the company, the more impressive!

  • 2014 Conference Promo/Discount Code Policy:

Promo code can only be used once, is non-transferable and any abuse of the promo code in any way will result in cancellation of your registration. Promo code must be entered at the time of online registration. Refunds are not available if codes are not rendered during online registration. Promo codes are not validate on-site at conference. Promo codes are not compounded with other offers.


  •  What corporations will be in attendance at conference?

  • How can I find company job postings?  What about specific functional areas of interest (marketing, finance, operations, etc.)?

Company job postings can be found on the NektPro website, found here.  These jobs are constantly being updated so please keep checking your account!

  • How can I find information on sponsorships/visas?

  • Can universities have local conference information sessions?

There are 40 NSHMBA chapters around the United States and Puerto Rico.  Feel free to contact them at any time for questions or support.  Their information can be found here on the NSHMBA website.
