Welcome to the San Antonio Chapter -- Bienvenidos al Cápitulo de San Antonio

NSHMBA San Antonio welcome letter 2015

As we embrace 2015, I am excited to see what the future holds, especially for the NSHMBA San Antonio chapter.

NSHMBA has evolved in front of our eyes, from just a few founding individuals to 41 chapters in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. This year, 2015, our organization is about to embark in a transformation to be the leading catalyst for Hispanics achievement by 2025.

Our core purpose remains constant: Empower Hispanic business professionals to achieve their full educational, economic and social potential, make and immediate impact on the development and visibility of Hispanic professionals, MBAs, students, sponsors and partners, and connecting people among our sponsors, partners, members and officers.

Our San Antonio chapter has taken the road less traveled in the last few years. Our amazing talented team in conjunction with our volunteers, members, sponsors and partners have been able to put in place great ideas, projects and initiatives that turned around our chapter from our downturn in 2011 to today’s success.

That is the result of who we are and how we do everything. We are a team of Exceptional People, and we do things with an exemplary powerful collaboration.

2014 was a year of great achievements for our chapter, such as the 2013 chapter of the year, participation at NSHMBA's Academy panel for ERGs best practices, the 3rd edition of the C-Suite Think Tank featuring our very own Rosanna Durruthy, the NSHMBA Charity Open wonderful execution, our career fair with State Farm workshop, and our partnership with Tesoro for a successful Women In Leadership, showcasing Tesoro's CEO, Greg Goff and Mariela Dabbah's Red Show Movement with an amazing panel of women Business leaders.

Today, I Welcome you to 2015, year in which I invite every one of you to continue in our wonderful journey of growth and innovation. A journey to bring who we are, and put forward our fullest potential. The success of our chapter is a reflection of each and every one of US. Therefore, we must get together and put the best of ALL of us to take OUR San Antonio chapter to the forefront of our community, stakeholders and partners as we continue being Pace Setters and Pioneers.

This year our plans are very ambitious and we will continue to bring our innovative Fundraising events and Leadership programs such as:

  ·        C-Suite Think Tank, a unique San Antonio Chapter program that brings together over 50 of the most powerful business leaders in the community to engage in an insightful and thought provoking discussion about inclusion and diversity as a conduit of promoting high performing organizations.

·         NSHMBA Charity Open at the TPC San Antonio, hosting the 3rd annual open, where the proceeds go directly to the funding of higher education for our future generation of professionals.

·         Women in Leadership, which doubled in attendance in its third year of inception, brings together talented women in our community with the sole intent of developing and building leadership skills for generations to come. An open dialog, of what women face in today's work environment.

 ·         Talent Inclusion & Engagement Development program (T.I.E.D.), a multi-platform program designed to leverage and build critical talent pipelines via human capital acquisition, professional development and readiness for collage students, seasoned talent into senior level opportunities.

·         NSHMBA San Antonio Gala, where we recognize our scholar recipients, sponsor of the year and host our biggest fundraising campaign towards our scholarship foundation.

All as a reaffirmation of being the SUPER chapter, SUPER: Sueña, Planifica, Ejecuta y Refirma. Or in English: Stargaze, Ultimate Planning, Execution, and Reassurance; as well as to support the NSHMBA Foundation that has raised over $8.5 million towards scholarships in recent years.

However, WE can only do this TOGETHER.... and the SUPER chapter asks each and every one of US to make it happen. Therefore, I encourage you to join us in this amazing journey and to learn more about our San Antonio Chapter.

On behalf of the Board of NSHMBA San Antonio chapter, I thank you for being part of our mission and for joining us this year to make a difference by supporting the success of our goals and objectives.

Please, reach out to me or any of our officers, like our Facebook page, join us via Tweeter or LinkedIn or by visiting our website.
