SELECTION OF RECIPIENTS
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic achievement, work experience, personal statement of goals and aspirations, community service, letters of recommendation, NSHMBA ambassadorship, and financial need.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of NSHMBA play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision of Scholarship America as final.

Applicants will be notified in late July. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf NSHMBA. Payments are made in one installment on August 31. A check is mailed to the recipient's home address and made payable to the school for the student.

OBLIGATIONS
Recipients are expected to be NSHMBA ambassadors. They are also required to supply Scholarship America with complete transcripts and financial aid award letters when requested and to notify Scholarship America of any changes of address, school enrollment, or other relevant information.
