As a chief professional body in the nation’s capital, the Washington, DC Chapter of NSHMBA’s primary mission is to be the chief connector to resources, information, and pathways to professional development for Latinos in the DC Metropolitan area.  At the local level, the chapter is committed to increasing the number of Hispanic MBA’s in the public sector and federal government.  NSHMBA DC is an independent 501(c) (6) organization with membership of more than 1100 professionals and a network of over 1,400 supporters, including MBAs, entrepreneurs and students.  NSHMBA is the primary Hispanic business organization dedicated to building and advancing Hispanic leadership through graduate management education and professional development.

               A Message from Our Chapter President
 
Hello Network Members!
 
I want to take a moment to share a bit about myself and tell you about my vision for the DC Chapter over the next year. So, who am I? Well, like all of you, I am a combination of experiences, values, and aspirations. I am a marathon runner who enjoys a Big Mac every so often. I was born in Bolivia, but have lived in the U.S. all but 8 months of my life. I am a creative artist who is passionate about coaching and mentoring others in their business careers. I am also a recently happily married thirty-two year old who suddenly has a Christian radio station set as his #1 car radio preset, and enjoys it. 
 
As a young person, one of the most fulfilling and influential activities that shaped my identity was my involvement in local community volunteer groups. Whether acting as a scholarship chair or mentor for high school programs, I genuinely enjoyed serving others and giving back.
 
Today, as president of the DC Chapter of NSHMBA, I am honored to work with a vibrant and talented group of Board members that feel committed to offering our Network the connection to a powerful association of business professionals. Through our professional development events, we hope to inform, motivate, and empower our members. Our pledge is to organize relevant and engaging programs that will inspire you to give up your Blackberry, IPhone or Smartphone, and give your fingers a rest to take part in thought-provoking and collaborative professional dialogue.
